Afternoon at the Improv II recap

Look what we did!!! The Lincoln Modern Quilt Group gave the floating squares score from Sherri Lynn Wood's book a try.  I think these turned out fantastic.

There are more examples of 'floating squares' on Sherri's website HERE plus a link to her book.  It was fun to see everyone interpret this score!

We had a few others working on their own projects while joining in on the conversation.  Colleen made some headway on her project from sewing retreat in Chicago. (see Molehill below)  Mary  worked on cutting out her steampunk blocks and Jim worked on a beautiful sunset batik piece.

The new galleries were open and we toured through them to get some inspiration.  A big thank you to the International Quilt Study Center and Museum for letting us use their beautiful space. Also we would like to thank Victoria Findlay Wolfe for stopping in on us in the lower gallery where we were admiring her quilts on display there.

Thank you to all that came out to sew with us.  The next Improv Afternoon will be August 8th at 12:00.
