April Meeting Reminder

Are you not sure how to find the information you need from the Lincoln MQG? Does the world of social media seem #complicated and #confusing? Do you want to know how to connect with the online quilting community as well as our own members? What about quilt alongs, block clubs and challenges?

Come to our meeting next Tuesday, April 25th! Kristie Jarchow will help us navigate our own blog and social media sites as well as show us some great online inspiration! Bring your best modern quilts for Show and Tell, we love to see what everyone is making. Hope to see you there!

Dyeing Class and Sew Day Highlights

April 8th was a busy Saturday for the Lincoln MQG!

From the Dyeing Workshop with Mary Dittenber

The dyeing workshop was held at the Bethany Park shelter. Not only were many colorful fabrics created, a fun time was had by all. A big thank you to Mary and all her helpers for a great workshop!

From the Sew Day at the IQSCM

Ten members were present for Sew Day. Four learned how to sew a pillowcase for the first time! Thank you to Kristie Jarchow for showing us how! The ten pillowcases sewn will be donated to Habitat for Humanity. A few kits are still available. We do not need any more fabric donations for this project at this time.

Sew Day Reminder

Hello Quilty Friends! We hope you will join us for Sew Day! We're looking forward to a fun day of sewing and social time with you.

Bring your works in progress and if you have a finished project, bring that for show and tell.

If you are interested in sewing pillowcases for Habitat for Humanity, there will be a few kits available on Saturday. Also, you can bring fabrics you would like to donate from your stash! Remember that we are in need of "boy" fabrics.

Pillowcases are quick and easy to make. You will need approximately this much fabric to make one pillowcase:

body=27" x 42"
cuff = 9" x 42"
piping = 2 " x 42"

If you've never made one before, here are a couple links to pillowcase tutorials.

See you on Saturday!
