July Meeting Highlights

From the July 25th Meeting: Kristina Morrow Trunk Show, "Confused Ramblings of a Disorganized Quilter."

Kristina is a delightful storyteller who entertained us with humorous anecdotes of her quilting journey. Kristina says there is a lesson to be learned in every quilt. She shared so many wonderful quilts with us and we enjoyed the tales behind each one! Thank you, Kristina!

June Meeting Highlights

From the June Meeting: "Taming Color: A Personal Approach" with Leah Sorensen-Hayes

Leah Sorensen-Hayes presented her personal approach for choosing color and shared how that process translates in her original designs. Her "No Rainbows" approach was very interesting! We were treated to an up close display of her wonderful bias tape quilts at the end of the meeting.
Thank you Leah for a fun and inspiring talk about how you use color and for sharing your wonderful quilts with us! Leah's blog is called Middle of the Blue, click to see her list of resources.

Quiltcon Charity Quilt

The QuiltCon Charity Quilt Committee has chosen a Friendship Star and Pinwheel design by Julie Karjala for next year's quilt. Project managers are Sheila Green and Mary Dittenber. They are asking for donations of White and Off White fabrics (no fabrics with black text or designs) for the background. They will take any size from 5" squares up to half yard pieces. Donations will be collected in July and August and the quilt will be assembled at the September Sew Day.
