2018 Holiday Party Reminder

Come join the fun at the Lincoln MQG Holiday party December 3rd, 2018
at the NSEA Bldg, 605 S. 14th, 3-6 PM

Can you guess who done it?

LMQG Murder Mystery Christmas Party, "Horrible Happenings at the Winery" (members only). Please bring finger foods--appetizers and desserts to share. Moscato Sangria and other drinks will be provided or BYOB. Please consider carpooling as parking is limited. If you arrive after 3 pm, there will be a number on the door to call for entry. The Twisted Threadz Quilt Guild is caught up in misfortune, mistakes and mystery. Guild members are hanging a quilt exhibit in the lobby of the LeLushious Grapes Winery when the power goes out. When the lights go back on Polly Esther is missing! What happened to her and who caused it? A quilt is created as the search goes on. Lincoln Modern Quilt Guild members, join us!

2018 dues will also be accepted at the party.

Nancy Goff, Kris Jarchow, Phyllis Higley, Linda Gale, Jen Van Dyke

Sheila continued her Make it Modern exercise from our October meeting. Liz and Kris sewed and slashed and came up with some cool modern pieces!

Show & Tell: Linda Crump, Linda Gale, Kris Jarchow, Julie Karjala

We are so excited to share news about our Habitat for Humanity of Lincoln Raffle Quilt!
The quilt raised $3950 for Habitat of Humanity, thanks to our $2,450 in ticket sales and cash donations and $1,500 in matching funds.
The drawing was held at the International Quilt Study Center & Museum during our Sew Day.
The Winner is Rennie Austin of Lincoln!
Rennie purchased her raffle ticket during National Quilting Day last March at the IQSCM.  She is a quilter and a former 4th grade teacher (taught the history of Nebraska in her classroom). Congratulations, Rennie!  It was a pleasure to meet you and know that our quilt has a wonderful new home.
The quilt was our QuiltCon Charity Quilt for 2017 and hung at QuiltCon in Savannah, GA last February.

November Sew Day Reminder

November 11th Sew Day

We hope to see you Saturday for our annual holiday gift sew day! Bring your gift ideas to share with the group for show and tell. Sheila will continue the Make it Modern fun from last month's meeting with a workshop. As always, bring whatever you want to work on or you can sew along with the gift ideas below.

  • The time has come for our Celebrate Nebraska 150 quilt drawing! We will choose the winner on Saturday during sew day.
  • We will be accepting 2018 dues, $35.
  • Bring your Art Market donations!

Sew along projects mentioned at last month's meeting:

Make it MODern workshop with Sheila.

You will need to bring an over-sized (15"-36" finished) traditional quilt block with high contrast colored fabric (black and white works well) an extra half to one yard of the negative space fabric, sewing machine, rotary cutter and mat.  Or, bring fabric and make your block at the museum. Sheila will have handouts for 4, 9 and 16 patch blocks.
