Sustainable Quilting: Reuse and Repurpose

 

Jennifer McKitrick showed us her scrap management system,

 

and her crumb quilts, "Rainbow of Crumbs" and "House Plants"

Guest Cindy Loop shared her memory crumb quilts.

Vicky Bedell shared her "Crumby Diamonds"

 

And the back...

 Tammy Hensley shared her creative use of fabric scraps and other materials.

 

Dyed selvedges and made into improv log cabin blocks.

Liz Thanel shared New York Beauty blocks made from old shirts, by her Bee-mate Jennifer van Dyke.

Kris Jarchow shared her quilts made from old sheets and clothing.

 

 

Too bad she didn't use a big enough piece for the back!  ;-)

Bonnie Kucera used up old fabric to complete her Bee quilt.

Using up every last shred of fabric!

 

Bonnie used ribbon, lace, and rick rack (and belts and gloves!) in these original textiles!

Elisa Salas used a long-treasured fabric and an old baby blanket to make her quilted coat.

Charrye Olberding's jean quilt.

Martha Turner used fabric from clothing and some vintage buttons in this wall hanging.
