April Meeting recap!

April LMQG meeting: Sheila Green talked about how to make a hanging sleeve for various finishes on quilts.  She shared her experience with us for hanging quilts at the IQSCM and how they make their encased "D" sleeves for hanging.

Some of her examples showed us a hanging sleeve on a regular finish, a facing finish and a bound edge finish.

Sheila also talked about tools to hang the quilt so that they keep that flat appearance once hung up.   She also showed us how to use the "Hang it, Dang it" bar which can be found HERE  *has a video tutorial

Next up, Colleen James gave us a recap of her sewing retreat to Chicago for Sewtopia.  Colleen met and took classes from Latifah Saafir, one of the co-founders of the National Modern Quilt Guild and Rita Hodge from Red Pepper Quilts!

Kristie Jarchow shared a recent blog post by Kathy Mathews -read here: Quilting sewing creating on "The Value and Cost of Making Quilts".
