Art Quilt 2020 - Show Details

We're having a show! 

This show is for the January 2020 challenge quilt as detailed below

 

 

 

We're so excited to be exhibiting LMQG quilters. Although the date says January 28th, 2020, you have until October 30th to complete your quilts. We will need your help to ensure a successful show. Submission

• Please submit your bound and labeled quilts no later than October 30th. 

• Artist statement: We will have a display card for each piece. Please email the details of your piece to Elisa Salas at drquiltpath@gmail.com.  Include the following:

• Your name

• The name of your piece

• The artist you were inspired by

• A picture of the artist's piece you were inspired by
  

• A brief statement of now more than 100 words. For example:

Let's Paper the Sky With Pieced Stars

Van Gogh's Starry Night

Statement: Van Gogh's Starry Night has always inspired me to look to the stars. For my work, I used batik yellows and blues and pieced the stars. I used commercial acrylics for a swirl effect. At the bottom right, I have a silhouette of me and my friends walking. 

 

• Drop-off: Please prepare to drop-off your quilt no later than October 30th. Due to social distancing, we are having only board members set up. Drop-off will be at the homes of people with security cameras to ensure the safety of your quilts. To arrange a drop-off time, please email of of the follwoing board members:

The Show

• Dates: November 6th (First Friday / Opening night) to November 21st (Saturday)
  
• Times: 
• First Friday: noon - 8 pm
• Tues - Fri: noon to 6 pm 
• Sat: 10 am - 5 pm

 

Take Down

• Date: November 21st
• Time: 3-4 pm
• Pickup of your quilts can occur at the Lux Center or can be retrieved from the board members' homes.  Please follow up with the board member you dropped-off with to arrange a pickup time.
