October Meeting 2020 Recap

Last meeting of the year - and what a wild ride, but we did it! Not a single month missed, more sewdays and a National Speaker as our endcap to the year!

Elections were held - our slate of officers were unanimously approved.

Co-presidents:          Mary Dittenber and Jeni Kuszak

Vice President:         Jennifer McKitrick

Secretary:                 June Pederson

Treasurer:                 Lora Yardley

Social Media:            Elisa Salas

Guest Lecturer, Cindy Grisdela, gave us her presentation, "Journey of an Art Quilter."

She discussed some tutorials that can be found on her blog, including facing a quilt and mounting a quilt on canvas

She gave excellent advice on quilting:

  • “Nobody knows what you meant to do” referring to utilizing unexpected outcomes as opportunities.
  • “What if” is one of the most important questions to ask in improv.
  • “Lean to hear your inner voice and get past ‘that’s ok’ to get to what makes your heart sing.”
  • “The most important person to please is yourself.”

Find more about Cindy on Facebook, at webpage, or at Instagram @cindygrisdelaquilts

After her most excellent talk, we discussed the budget for 2021 where we plan to have workshops and more national speakers.

Raffle prize winners were announced! Find them here.
