We are hosting a workshop called Pinwheel Joy: Traditional to Modern with Carole Lyles Shaw. We have eight openings at this time and would like to invite your members to sign up.

The workshop will be on March 9th, 2024 from 10am - 3pm - on Zoom. Each participant will receive a zoom link and participate from their own home. The cost of the workshop will be $65 for guild members and $75 for non-members (additional $2.50 for PayPal fees if paying by PayPal). Once we reach 20 participants, we will start a waiting list, so sign up soon!

Pinwheel Joy Sign up

This workshop is a quick make and a great introduction to creating unique improvisational blocks. We will start by making traditional pinwheel blocks and quickly transform them into unique modern improv blocks. We will use background fabric and create asymmetrical layouts for the pieced blocks. You can use a variety of modern prints including African prints to make this fun quilt.

Schedule & Prework:

Students will view a prerecorded tutorial on fabric selection and making pinwheel blocks. Live session will focus on improvisational fracturing and creating the final layout.

Second Chances: Upcycled Modern Quilts

Formerly known as the Feedsack Challenge. Just a quick update to share. Pictures of the challenge pieces have been taken by Sheila and will be shared later. The thought was to not publish them here on the blog or on Facebook until the exhibit goes live at the International Quilt Museum so the reveal will be more special. Our 33 pieces will be displayed May 15 - September 18 in the Beavers Gallery
