Sew Days at the Fair Highlights

Friday, August 18, 2017

The Lincoln Modern Quilt Guild held our August Sew Days at the Lancaster County Super Fair this year. What a fun time! It was wonderful to see all the quilts (40!) entered by our members. Thank you to the many members who volunteered their time to help hang/take down the quilts, white glove, demonstrate modern quilting techniques and sell raffle tickets. Special thanks to Kristie Jarchow for organizing the volunteers!

Top L-R: Improv Stripe Quilt Along with Kristie Jarchow, Curved Piecing and Easy Circles with Brenda Wiseman. Middle: Foundation Freezer Paper Piecing with Peg Pennell. Bottom L-R: Spiral and Free Motion Quilting with Liz Thanel, Easy Fusible Transfer with Jen Van Dyke.

We hope you were able to make it out to the fair! Check out our Facebook page for more photos.

Please bring your sewing machines and basic supplies to try some improv piecing or to work on your latest project. We will start out talking 'Improv' and sharing what we have been working on. Many of us tried the "Floating squares score" from Sherri Lynn Woods book The Improv Handbook for Modern Quilters. Maybe we will have some progress on those??  Bring anything for show and share and let's get to sewing.

Lots of quilty goodness was shared by the group.

Some newbies to the group showed and shared some of their works.

Lots of fun and exciting projects were shared. Next  meeting will be the last August 25th at the Bernina Sewing Studio 5:30 -7p.m.
