Whether you carry a purse, a handbag, a pocketbook, a backpack, fanny pack or a clutch bag and you have used a pattern or your own design, please come to our September meeting and share. 

It's all about that "bag"! 

Share your tips and tricks for sewing your own bags, pouches, pencil cases, sewing caddy bag, shoe bag, make-up bags you name it.  If you have the pattern please share. If you got a freebie on-line or made your own design tell us about it. 

Are there straps, hardware and zips you prefer? Where do you get your supplies? What type of interfacing or filling do you prefer? Come tell us about it!

There will be lots of show and tell this night because the GO GEOMETRIC Challenge needs to be turned in. Get your artist statement and dimensions sent to the guild email address.  Don't forget to put a label on your quilt with your name ready to turn in at meeting.

We are gearing up for our last Sew day of the year on October 10th. Please bring your gift making ideas and share how-tos and show off your great gift ideas for this years season of giving. 

Also be thinking about saving the date for our Holiday party December 12. Sign up to come to party will be at the October sew day and the October meeting.  Mark your calendars.

Do you have ideas about programs and classes for next year? Why not join the board and help make these things happen. Voting on slate of officers will be in October but we have to have people. 

In the meantime, get your bags and challenge piece ready to share...

The Very Beginning...a Very Good Place to Start!

The Lincoln Modern Quilt Guild started when two members, Mary Farrington-Brown and Suzanne Rose contacted each other through the FB site and decided to meet.  They invited anyone in the area to join and Colleen James, Jill Hanna and Kristie Jarchow came to the first meeting held at Suzanne's home in August of 2014. Meeting dates and board positions were chosen to get this group off the ground.

In September our group met at the home of Jill Hanna who demonstrated her long-arm machine and let us all have a try.

October, 2014 Suzanne Rose gave a demo on Foundation Piecing. We met at Gere Library.

The exec-board picture is from our Holiday Sewcial Gathering in Dec, 2014. We announced our first guild challenge at this meeting.  Suzanne Rose spearheaded the making of a guild banner.  She chose several shades of grunge fabric and we used the scraps from the banner for the "Banner Color Inspirations Challenge" to be due in Feb of 2015.

 

The Banner is a work in progress but this is what we have so far. Suzanne Rose designed the logo for our guild and pieced the banner together.
