January Meeting

Welcome!

Welcome to Lincoln Modern Quilt Guild in 2020. Let’s start this decade with an eye towards expressing our creativity, learning new skills, and making friends. Your presidents this year are familiar faces. Phyllis is continuing as co-president. Mary, who was co- vice president last year, is sharing the presidency with Phyllis this year. Together with the LMQG membership we plan to explore new ideas in quilting,
strengthen the skills we already have, and build new ones. This year our focus will be Back to Basics and Beyond. We will learn how to make traditional blocks modern, explore social media, nail down our quilt making techniques, and experiment with surface design. We have ideas to help our members make friendly connections, promote co-mentorship, and build our sense of community. If you have ideas to help us meet our goals or if there is something you’d really like to explore, please let us know. There’s
always more to try and do in quilting; let’s learn together.

Agenda

A big THANK YOU to Michelle Raphael and NSEA for being such excellent hosts for our 2019 Holiday Party!

Activity: Make it New Again

Bring your old and/or traditional blocks, scissors for a modern make over, just in time for the new year. If you submitted one from last year, we still have it and will bring it for the meeting. We'll have some solids for you to use, but you can also bring your own. We'll cut them up, rearrange, and tack them down or glue them on a paper. Bring your piece home and sew away.

This year's theme is, "Back to Basics, and Beyond" Join us as we explore our monthly modern techniques that review the basics, but push our boundaries.

Dues:
Please remember to pay your dues. This year it's $40, payable to LMQG. With your dues,  you'll have access to our Pop-up Workshops, Sew-In dates every other month at the International Quilt Museum, and be members of the Modern Quilt Guild with web access to their patterns and tutorials.

Bring in and show off your Art Quilt. One of the lucky people who completed theirs will win a prize!

Bring your Big Blue Quilt
