We had a fantastic meeting this Tuesday and were so thrilled to host Carole Lyles Shaw! We learned so much about her.
Fun facts about Carole Lyles Shaw: Author, Quilter and Teacher
- She was inspired by the AfriCobra Movement and artists such as Annie Albers, Bauhaus, and Radha Donnell
- Her early work included improv curves and geometric abstractions
- She was co-founder of the Sarasota Modern Quilt Guild in Florida
- Her Quilts of Valor are made modern and she has published on her designs
- Her self-published books include Madly Modern Quilts and Patriotic Modern Quilts: Celebrating Tradition in a Contemporary Way available on Amazon.
- Her method is to start with shape or a focus fabric, use play and experimentation, and uses EQ8 for design.
